September 3, 2009 The University of Dayton has announced its complete men's basketball schedule, including a just-finalized 16-game Atlantic 10 Conference schedule and the 14-game non-conference schedule which had already been released earlier this summer. While the complete Flyer basketball television schedule has yet to be finalized, the Atlantic 10 released its slate of games that will be seen on the ESPN family of networks, CBS College Sports and CBS College Sports Regional. Eleven of Dayton's 16 games in Atlantic 10 play will be seen on one of these outlets. UD will have three conference games on ESPN2, two on ESPNU, two on CBS College Sports and four on CBS College Sports Regional Television. Of the seven games available coast-to-coast, the Flyers will play on ESPN2 at Xavier (Jan. 16), against Xavier at home (Feb. 6) and at Duquesne (Feb. 21), on ESPNU at Saint Joseph's (Jan. 23) and at Saint Louis (Feb. 13), and on CBS College Sports at home against La Salle (Feb. 18) and at Richmond (Mar. 4). In addition, Dayton's game at New Mexico on Jan. 1 will be televised on the MountainWest Sports Network, which is a joint venture between the Mountain West Conference, Comcast and CBS College Sports. Dayton will face Duquesne, Saint Louis and Xavier home-and-home, and all other A-10 schools once. The 2010 Atlantic 10 Men's Basketball Championship will be held March 9-14. The top four seeds in the tournament will receive a first-round bye, and four first-round games will be played at campus sites on Tuesday, March 9. Eight teams will advance to Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City for the quarterfinals, semifinals and finals, March 12-14. The championship game will be televised by CBS on Sunday, March 14. UD will play a non-conference schedule that includes teams from the ACC, Big East, Big Ten, Big XII, the Colonial, the MAC, the Missouri Valley, the Mountain West and the SEC. A highlight of the non-conference schedule is the University of Dayton's participation in the O'Reilly Auto Parts Puerto Rico Tip-Off in San Juan Nov. 19-22. The Flyers will play Georgia Tech in the first round. Other teams in the field are Boston University, George Mason, Indiana, Kansas State, Ole Miss and 2009 Final Four participant Villanova. UD will play two games on either ESPN2 or ESPNU during the Puerto Rico tournament. The Flyers will play two preseason exhibition games at UD Arena - Tuesday, Nov. 3 against Ferris State, and Monday, Nov. 9 against Georgetown College. Dayton returns four starters and 10 of its top 11 scorers from last year's 27-8 team that reached the NCAA Second Round. The Flyer returnees include all four players who earned Atlantic 10 postseason honors in 2008-09: Chris Wright, Marcus Johnson, London Warren and Chris Johnson. Wright, who was recently named to the prestigious John Wooden Award Preseason Top 50 List, was also First Team NABC All-District, led UD in scoring (13.3) and rebounding (6.6), and set a school single-season record for dunks (54) last year as a sophomore.
